Playdays in wimbledon - is it terrible?

I've just managed to get my 12 month old into Playdays on Queens Road for 1 day a week starting in January - I was so glad to get something that I went for it as the staff seemed a little young but it seemed well run.

However, my neighbour just told me that she had heard it had problems and i've just read the Ofsted report (I know I should have done this before signing up ) and it's not good.

We've been on the waiting list for Wimbledon Day nursery for ages but have just been told that it's going to be June at the earliest and that we have been moved from 5th to 57th on the list as they have "changed the way they do their lists". . Anyway, WDN would be ideal so I'm thinking I might move him in the summer.

But do you think Playdays is really so bad?

I spoke with Playdays and they explained that although they did get a bad ofsted report in the summer, they have completely overhauled the nursery with 6 new staff, a new manager, improved facilities and better systems. That explains why I was impressed when I went the other week. They are getting another inspection in Jan so hopefully will be able to see the results of that before my DC starts.

Hmmm... answering my own MN posts... I'll be talking to myself soon.

(actually I do that already )

I'm not sure if my post would help you at all. My child was at Playdays in Wimbledon Hill. I know they have transferred a few people (including the assistant manager) from Wimbld Hill nursery to improve Playdays on Queens Road. Hopefully it works. I do not know anyone who has been at Queens Road, but my child loved the nursery on wimbld. Hill.
