Nurseries in Newcastle

Hi,
I am moving to Newcastle this January. I was wondering if anyone can recommend me a good nursery near Newcastle University or in Jesmond. I have read Ofsted inspection reports but my previous experience shows that just because a nursery is rated "outstanding" does not mean they are capable of looking after your children. In the past I had put my son to an outstanding university nursery but my experience with a good one was definitely better than the other. I have the feeling that some nurseries only focus on getting a good rating from Ofsted, and not the needs of parents and babies. My son is 2,5 years old and I want him to be in a nursery where people genuinely care him and pay him attention. I am less interested in how excellent the nursery is in dealing with the paperwork. I'd appreciate any advice.

A colleague used to use this one and said it was very good:

Buffer Bear have a nursery attached to Central Station in the middle of Newcastle city centre and they're a chain so might be alright.

Friend's children went to the Northumbria University nursery and were very happy - don't know if it's only opne to students/staff though.

Jesmond nursery is quite expensive in comparison with several others but also know someone whose older son went and they were very happy.

Other nurseries that people have used and liked (including us) - Kids First Quorum, Maple Lodge, Cedars, Elmfield, Kenton Park, Church View, Fieldhouse. Some may be too far out for you though.

Fieldhouse Nursery in Forest Hall was, in my experience, a first class nursery and I couldn't recommend it highly enough, both my children attended between 2000-2005.
It just might be a little out of your way, but if you're willing to travel it's worth it.

Thank you all. Unfortunately Northumbria has no places available at the moment. I am thinking of Buffer Bear.
