Bank Holidays and nursery

I've just started a new job. It's variable days but I'm working on getting one set day and one variable day a week, as MIL will care for dd one day (the variable one) and DD will go into nursery the set day. However, it's looking like the set day will be a Monday. Nursery is closed on bank holidays but you still have to pay. I would more than likely have to work the bank holidays (and get double pay for it) but obviously I would be paying for nursery that I'm not using (DH would be able to care for her on bank holidays). Nursery have said that they may be able to change her day if necessary, provided they have notice, but would they allow me to change the day she goes every time there is a bank holiday? Presumably everyone would do this as no-one wants to pay for a day that they can't use. Has anyone come across this and how does your nursery deal with it?

I work Mon-Wed and pay for bank holidays but this is fine by me tbh. I get paid when I'm not at work (I know you're working but you're getting paid double and not having to pay for extra child care) and so should the nursery staff.

We use the nursery 3 days a week, including Mondays and just pay for it as normal when it's a bank hol. I doubt you could swap on bank holidays, like you say everyone would want to do that!

Our nursery does not charge for bank holidays, except if you have a full-time place. A full-time place is cheaper than paying a daily rate because we take the bank holidays into account.
We are closed on bank holidays and we always offer to swap days for part time children.
It pays to be flexible.
The cost of staff wages is absorbed by the nursery.

My nursery lets me swap bank holidays, as long as I ask well in advance. (DS only does 2.5 days - not sure if thats anything to do with it. To be honest I've never asked for details)
