Oh and I forgot......I had 3 children, 2 boys and a black little girl. A male nursery nurse came in my room to see how we were doing, sat on the farm mat, and the little girl lifted a black monkey up to him and he said 'oh look, Jasmine, a black monkey, just like u.' I was so shocked and upset, this little girl is possibly the sweetest I ever did meet regardless of race etc! I will NEVER put my children in nursery, NEVER!!!

That is appalling.

Fortunately not all nurseries/childminders/nanies/childcare are like this. Most (IME) genuinely like being with, and are trained to work with children.

Yes, definitely report him. This cannot be allowed to continue. That poor little girl's parents need to be alerted.

Unfortunately, it is true. I quite couldn't believe it myself, and thought he'd called her a cheeky monkey or something but when I realised what he said, I almost spluttered my drink over one of my poor boys. I just made some excuse about it being tea time now so would he mind leaving me to seat the children. This same person bragged about how he got stoned over the weekend in the staffroom.
All us childcarers definately ARE NOT like this. Some of us genuinely love children and want to do our upmost best to make the childrens lives as happy as possible in the absense of the parents. I am going to report the nursery on the whole I think, although one of the nursery nurses is truly lovely and loves the babies she looks after. The management are nice too. Just a pity about the staff.

Report the nursery definitely. Might be worth highlighting the good people/parts in your report (so they aren't all tarnished) and really highlight this male worker. Write out the incident(s) in detail and date/time them. And include them.

I also can't believe people who are in childcare just for the money, when there are ppl like me out there in desperate need of a childcare job, but nurseries are filled with nasty, crappy, low lives and turn what should be a wonderful job into a bitching nightmare. I would rather do nursery work than nanny work but its such a horrible atmosphere in most.

There was 3 good nursery nurses, one in the baby room and two in the pre school room who just kept their jobs professional and did everything to make the children's days happy. They were the kind of people who would make the perfect nursery nurses.

I work in a Nusery and we would definitly be pulled up if we made a remark like that. Do report this.
