Nurseries in Balham

Hi I am looking at options for Nurseries in the Balham area> I will be looking to send my son/daughter at 1y old. I have heard mixed reviews on Second Steps & Grove Hall but would love to hear your thoughts!

My son attends Teddies in Balham, has done since he was 8mo (he's now 2yo). I'm very impressed by the staff there, and he absolutely LOVES it. Like any nursery it has its ups and downs, but none serious. There is a really happy atmosphere there.

I haven't heard anything about Second Steps, other than it has a long waiting list.

That's good information as I've had some positive feedback on Teddies and willcertainly have a look at it. Another one that could be worth looking into is Eveline on Ritherdon Rd. Thank you!

I've heard good things about Teddies (a friends boy goes there). My daughter goes to Nightingales (which is part of the college SFX behind Clapham south tube). Great little place and she is very happy there.

I have two friends who have both used Second Steps and highly recommend it. Dh's goddaughter goes there and she's a very happy, well-adjusted and socialble little soul.

My niece went to second steps and loved it. I've heard very good things about the balham nursery too.

just read the ofsted report on the balham nursery. No wonder my sister's pleased she got her dd2 in there for next term. All outstandings on every category.

Balham Nursery is only from 3 though and it's hard to get a full time place. It is great though, and free .
