moving house and changing nursery 21mo- do we start adaptation again?

Ds is 21mo and has been at the same nursery since 11mo. It looks like we´ll be moving within the next few weeks and although ideally he would stay where he is logistically we´ll have to find him a new nursery. He goes 3 days a week 9am-3pm and we were going to up his days before april to 5 (same hours) so I guess it would be best to do this all at once - i.e. aim to get him straight into a 5 day routine at the new nursery.

What are they likely to suggest is the best way to do this i.e. as a child already used to nursery but nonetheless adapting to a new one?

I really wish we didn´t have to as he doesn´t adapt easily to change but it is looking like the best option. any advice?

Oh - I can probably take a week or two off work to help settle him in but would like to have an idea of a good schedule when i speak to nurseries so I can compare it to what they are saying.

We moved when DS was 15 months old - he'd been in nursery FT since 4.5 months old. Nursery offered 3 settling in sessions, but tbh I could have left him at the first one as he wandered off whilst I was form filling and refused to leave. He went in full time from then, and was really very unworried.

He did go from one small (ie 3 room) nursery to another similar sized, so that may have helped.

was he the same in his last nursery too? ds is fine at nursery but would always rather be at home and has never been one of those kids that loves it there/ asks to go even on weekends etc.

Good point re. looking for a similar sized one..

He was always very happy there - obviously couldn't vocalise about it at that point. But now he is very happy about being at nursery, but doesn't ask to go and gleefully points out at the weekend that nursery gates are SHUT. He runs in in the morning though - this may be the lure of the rice crispies tho
