Has your DC come home with exciting Xmas goodies from nursery?

I am very impressed with DS's nursery! He has only been there for about 6 weeks but today he came home with:

A present for him from the staff, a present from him to mummy and daddy, a hat, a stocking covered in cut out pictures, a Xmas card caked in glitter and some homemade snowflakes!

I am probably being all PFBish but it's the first 'arty' stuff we've received so I feel very proud!

I got a card which was a picture of a reindeer, with the head made out of a DS foot, and antlers made of DS hands. Prints, obviously, not his actual hands. I cried

I too got a painted picture of a reindeer with feet and hands used! My DS has his party at nursery last friday for parents to come and do activities with them which was good.

All my children got a Pixie door (I painted 31 of the buggers), the babies have made a Christmas Tree Ornament for Mummy & Daddy (2 CD's stuck together decorated with their picture in the middle on one side and their name & the date on the other)

& there is a party on Sunday (hardly anyone is coming, less than 1/3rd )

I hope I have done enough

No nothing. I'm fucked off about it, tbh. Not even a Christmas card. Can't they even be bothered with that? V poor.

Oh noooo! I thought one ingenious person had come up with this off the top of their head. Must be in Kindly Nursery Staff Module 176: Make New Parents Cry at Christmas !

DS has been making a series of decorations over the last week or so which I expect will come home with him tomorrow (just as well, given I am apparently getting a 6 foot tree rather than the 4 foot one I expected).

we've had the hand and foot reindeer too! dd2 came home with a folder full of xmas 'art' last night - and she only goes 2 days a week, so i can't imagine how much the full timers will have. tbh her nursery is fab at xmas time - lots of xmas songs learnt, xmas party and presents of nursery and her key worker. v impressive.

aaah! I've just started work at a preschool, we made loads, made sure the children were involved up to their eyeballs - if they want FC to have a purple beard so be it - loved doing it, good to know that parents like it too

I made the reindeer hand and foot print cards for my parents and pil - the instructions are being shown on CBeebies.

Dd came home from nursery yesterday with a present from Santa who visited, a bell that she had painted and glittered, a christmas card to us and a star on a lolly stick for the tree. She was also pretty well decorated herself

Last week she came home with fairy cakes that she has baked and iced - she is 10 months old

Given how snotty all the kids are I was not tempted to try one!

purepurple · 29/12/2008 10:31

can I just point out that babies cannot actually make anything and the artwork that you so lovingly cherish has in fact been made by the adult caring for them

ilikeyoursleeves · 02/01/2009 22:03

Purepurple, really??????

I would have never thought. And here was all of us thinking that our babies were so talented making Christmas cards and the like.
