Help! Does anyone have recommendations for nurseries around E1 area? I have Green Gables and St Pauls in Dock Street on my short list but would love some personal recommendations. My DD needs a full time place in April when she will be 9 months.

I would recommend st paul's in dock street. My dd has been there since she was 7 months and we are all extremely happy with the nursery. She began in the younger baby room and has recently moved to the older baby room. The staff were brilliant when dd started at the nursery and we are equally as happy with the staff in her new room. I think I was more nervous than dd was and everyone made me feel at ease. I like the fact that I can ring at anytime to see if she is ok and I'm not made to feel like a neurotic mother! Lots of space and dd's current room has lots of play areas, dining room, sleep room and a sensory room. The only draw back is the small garden but that doesn't worry me as there is so much space everywhere else. The thing that swung our decision was the seperate sleep areas and the friendly staff. Hope that helps.

Thats great thank you! I got a good feel from the place but it is so difficult to judge from a brief visit. As you say the tiny outside space is not ideal, think I need to make a second visit and see how much it bothers me. This was the first nursery I visited but have seen a few more since so feeling a bit more confident about making a choice - its so much harder than I thought it would be!

This is in a different part of E1, but I would also recommend the Nursery at Queen Mary University. My dd started there about a month ago, and it is brilliant! Very well run, attention to details, lovely staff, very sympathetic to my worrying. So far, I've been very impressed.
