What do you think - me or dp to do settle in period?

I am going back to work p/t in December and ds (1) will go to nursery in January. Me and dp doing childcare until then. My dd (4) goes to the same nursery, so ds knows it v well. He is v clingy with me, but fine with dp...so was wondering whether it would be a good idea for dp to do the settling in week. Anyone else done this? Feel like I ought to do it (mother's guilt and all that), but maybe it would be less stressful all round.
