Has anyone any experience of Montessori nurseries? Have just changed to one and although seems nice I'm still slightly concerned have made the right move for my 2 year old!

My ds2 went to a Montessori, although we sent him there because it was a lovely little nursery with great staff, not because of the educational ethos.

He had an 'interesting' start to nurseries as the one we had chosen for him, which ds1 had attended, closed down the week he was due to start!! I had to rush around to find him a place somewhere, and he ended up at a nursery which looked fine, but which I wasn't ever really happy with. Couldn't say why exactly, but it just didn't suit him, or me. Then we moved to Monetessori, and all was fine.

I only say this, because if you give somewhere a try and you really aren't happy with them, then I would say go with your intstincts, every time. You will know deep down if your child is happy. Mine flourished, once we changed his nursery, even though lots of kids we knew were happy at the other one.

DD2 was going to a montessori before the Summer holidays; it was sooooo lovely, they did loads of interesting stuff. Wonderful place in every respect. She loved it
Now she's at a pre-school attached to a big school; it's fine but not a patch on the montessori.
She moved because she got a place at the pre-school and it's free (funded by dep of ed) while the montessori was nearly 300 Euros a month
