Christmas present for nursery staff

It's aproaching that time of year again where thoughts turn to the festive season. My ds goes to nursery half a day a week and there are four lovely ladies who look after the babies in the room that he's in.

The nursery is great and the staff are lovely so I'm looking for suggestions for what to get them for Christmas. I would like something they could share (as I don't know then well enough to get individual presents) but want to avoid supplying 'another' box of chocolates at Christmas (BIL is a teacher and I know people who work with children - and in offices etc get a bit choc overload).

So - suggestions please!

M & S vouchers each? Hyacinths or poinsettias in a pot?

Hi What about something for the staff room magazine subscription or make a hamper with magazines coffee hot choc sachets and some sweets or biscuits,or you could make some kind of hamper for the baby room with shower gels,face masks in and they could then split it them selves.

That's a great suggestion - re the shower gels etc - I was thinking maybe of getting some of the travel size things from Boots and making up one parcel that they could then share between then. I just know that they'll probably get lots of chocolates, but wasn't sure if there was something I should be doing!

How about some strawberries and cream - they could share it at lunchtime?

I know a few people that work in a nursery and you're right to hesitate about giving them 'another' box of chocs - a nice idea, but a double edged sword for any girl trying to diet for the xmas party. I think things like shower gels/bubble bath are appreciated so long as they get one each and don't have to fight over who gets what.

At the end of the day, they're aren't paid a fortune and money/vouchers are always appreciated even if it's a token gift towards the xmas party booze budget. I did hear a couple of girls discussing their 'disappointment' at getting an M&S voucher because they'd get so much more for their money at Woolworths - a universal voucher might be a good idea if that's what you're planning!
