Hi, having a bit of a mummy-wobble here about headstart nursery as I have heard rumours that it is not as good as it was since the manager has changed.

DS (my PFB) is supposed to be going there soon - does anyone here have any recent experience to cheer me up?

Where is the Headstart in Barnet? I am trying to sort out nursery at the moment. Looking for one anywhere between barnet and Finchley.

pudding theres a new nursery in finchlet central called the rocking horse if your interested?! head start though is on station road 5 min walk from train station.

pudding25 · 21/09/2008 09:29

I am going to see the Rocking Horse tomorrow! It is meant to be amazing but I am worried I am not going to get a place anywhere for Jan as I have left it too late.

I think I know where the Headstart one is now (near turning for Plantagenet Road?). It looks nice from the outside.

Thanks! She is 4mths 1 wk at the moment and would be nearly 8mths in Jan when I need a place.

Went to see Rocking Horse this morning. Very impressed! Going to send in the form to register. They said children will be moving rooms in Jan so there is the possibility...

pudding25 - what was so good about it? What was the manger's name?

pudding25 · 22/09/2008 13:25

It was in a beautiful converted house, so clean and friendly looking. All the children looked really happy and the staff all smiled at me, said hello and were interacting really well with the children. The facilities were great and I just had a really good feeling about it. I think the manager was called Bernie but I may be imagining that!

saladsucks · 22/09/2008 13:31

was just wondering because a manager left Leapfrog in Mill Hill to set up her own nursery and I've never worked out where she went.
Good to know that there is a nursery locally which is clean and friendly! There are so many bad ones it is easy to lose faith.

ummadam · 22/09/2008 17:11

saladsucks - the manager at rocking horse used to be at headstart in barnet - not sure if that helps.

I also have her name down at Magic in Whetstone which is fantastic too and I know a couple of people who have sent their kids there.

Does anyone know anything about the Academy 4 Kids nursery in Whetstone... I am thinking about sending my little DD there in Jan...

Appreciate any comments... thank you!
