Hi, I'm a 1st time mum so have no idea about buying gifts for nursery staff. My dd has just moved from baby room to the toddler room and was wondering whether I should buy something for her old key worker?

We're also going away for a week soon, should I buy something when we return??

Also, when buying gifts do you just give something to the key worker or do you need to buy for all the staff that looks after your lo?

Thanks!

ps. they tend not to like chocolates/food do they?

Blimey! DS's (old ) Nursery welcomed tins of chocolate with open arms!

I never bought anything when he moved from one room to another. TBH it never even crossed my mind.

I buy gifts for the 'room' staff at Christmas and Easter. I also bought a gift for ds keyworker when he went up to the next room. I'm a teacher so I know how well these gifts are received. I also think it is good for my ds, even though he doesn't understand yet, to give a present to say thank you.

Hi thanks for your replies, so I guess its up to each person whether they would like to buy something when changing rooms.

Sorry if I sound stupid, but what about going away on holiday, would you buy something then?

Thanks!

My sons have been in nursery for 3 years now. We only buy presents at Christmas otherwise it gets ridiculous. We do however, spend quite a lot filling a gift box with lots of little bits and pieces from Lush which we give to the room manager to distribute to all the staff that have looked after them during the year. This gets round the issue of what to do if your child moves room during the year - do you by just for the current room or both sets of staff?
Hope this helps.
