My baby is due in Nov and I won't need a nursery until next summer but not sure if I need to start getting my name on waiting lists now?

Does anyone have any experience of any nurseries in Highbury/N5 area?

hi there I was going to move to he islington area a few months back and I was told little angels nursery was brilliant (although expensive) it has a great ofsted report.

Anyone know of any good nurseries other than Little Angels? I have contacted them and they've said to come back in Jan for September admissions. Just want to make sure I am considering all the options in case there are any brilliant nurseries with longer waiting lists!

the gower school in n7...2 tube stops from arsenal. A bit of a trek but was my preferred choice, it's a montessori.

rosemary works early years centre...just been inspected by ofsted, and was outstanding...

I researched and visited a whole bunch of nurseries in the Islington/Highbury area less than a year ago and the Rosemary Works one really stood out for me, especially for a younger child. Much more loving and child-focused than the other ones, which tend to cater for parents' needs first. Good to hear that they've got a good Ofsted recently, as some of our friends send their children there (who love it).

Aberdeen Park Nursery - not to be confused with New Park Nursery or Highbury Community Nursery (Aubert Park)

Little Angels over rated imo....

Thanks Jenjam, Chochosan, choucroutegarnie and babybaby! Rosmary Works sounds great but is too far really - we live in Highbury and I drive out north to work so realistically we need somewhere closer. I think I will take a look at Aberdeen Park. New Park and Little Angels were at teh top of my list really just based on ofsted reports so it's good to hear personal experiences too. At the end of the day I just want somewhere where my baby will be happy.

To be honest I think I am a bit in denial about the whole thing - even though she hasn't been born yet I am feeling really reluctant about the idea of going to work and leaving her (at nursery, childminder, whatever) and I think deep down I'm hoping I can convince DH to let me be a stay at home mum. Well that's my fantasy anyway!

For any mums or dads looking for an amazing nursery immediately (for the less organised amongst us or someone going back to work last minute), I saw the most amazing place today... kids unlimited on gillespie road. Its only just opened in Sep so it has loads of places for all ages but I can not describe how amazing the facilities are. Hte pre- school room knocked my socks off and Maria was great.
