He'll be fine sweetie, just fine. You though, may feel a little upset at leaving him and find yourself feeling lost. It's natural though. I cried buckets when I left my Ds at nursery for the first time - and he was 3yo.

Marina · 31/07/2008 00:14

It will be fine, truly. For him at least
Good luck cvq

im staying with him tomorrow.but i have issues.theyll want to hold him and oh god im so stupid i cant belive im actually typing this.it worries me.yes i know rationally i will be there so nothing will happen to him but i am completely paranoid.its always been this way.i know i need to get over it for his sake and next session i will probably need to leave him for a while whilst i sit outside and sob

You will be fine and so will he. You can start to have a little you time once he's settled and you've got to grips with leaving him. Honestly!

DutchOma · 31/07/2008 09:21

Praying for you in this next difficult step. You know you are doing the right thing for J

Notquitegrownup · 31/07/2008 09:39

DS1s nursery had a 'mummywindow', which we could peep into to see the children playing happily once we'd gone. Ut was a great nursery as they really looked after the mums there too. It was very reassuring to see them having fun, particularly if they were a bit sad when we left them.

You will feel sad to leave him, but you can also get great joy out of seeing your little man making friends and having fun with other children.

Best of luck. We will be thinking of you/praying for you.

Stop worrying! everything is going to be ok. Even if he doesn't get on ok today, he'll soon get used to it and want to go there every day...they nearly always do! big hugs to you both

differentID · 31/07/2008 12:43

Let us know how it goes. J will be fine. Just remember, he is your little boy and you will be with him.

PCOmNomNASWM · 31/07/2008 18:41

copingvquietly · 31/07/2008 22:20

cpv,

my DD2 started school last Sep and tells me with a hint of 5yo annoyance that the little boy who sits behind her on the carpet takes her hair and strokes it against his cheek.

I think ahhhhhhhhhh, how lovely!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 31/07/2008 23:03

hey cvq - DD has settling session at her new nursery tomorrow.

Glad it went OK for him today - how was it for you?

CvQ · 07/08/2008 14:46

second settling in session went without a hitch and he officially starts next tuesday.am feeling a lot happier about it now and have been assured that if he gets too upset someone will call me
