how many free preschool sessions do you get when your child is 3?

2.5hrs, 5days/wk for 38wks of the yr.

5 x 2.5 hours in the term after they turn three. some take from 3rd b'day but funding from next term after three. ie three in sept would be jan funded, 3 in july would be sept funded. hth!

You need to secure your childs place at a nursery/playgroup/pre-school first, then they will give you the forms to fill in.

The sessions atm are 2.5 hours long but you can take two sessions in a day as long as there is a break between sessions ie lunch (this is being phased out though as parents are soon going to be offered more flexibility).

Worth noting that from 2010 it is being phased in so that the amount of free education offered will be 15 hours a week rather than 12.
