When I returned to work my childminder announced 3 weeks before I was due to start back that her partner had left her so she couldn't take DD

I found a nursery, but one where I knew the staff were nice but I didn't like the owner.

I changed to another nicer nursery that then phoned and told me that they were closing 1 week before she was due to start.

I found an alternative place for her (this was september)

They have given us a letter today saying that their new building is not ready and though the developer said they could stay in current building ultil it was, they are now told that they have to leave on 31 July

I have no childcare after that date

fuck

nice to 'see' you

fletch. hope you get sorted.

hunkermunker · 10/07/2008 22:15

Norma, that's crap

Can you take some family leave to help a bit? Do you have much annual leave left?

NormaStanleyFletcher · 10/07/2008 22:26

I am going to see if I can get tomorrow as compassionate leave to sort the whole sorry mess out

I am Jonah to childcare

What's the entitlement to family leave? Parental leave, is it called? Think it's unpaid though?

NormaStanleyFletcher · 10/07/2008 22:51

unpaid?!?

you know nothing of how close to cashlessness I am

Luckily, although my company may be crap, my managers are great

And they value me (I think)

You might be able to fletch. I'd ask. It's not like you'll be on MN all day

lulu I will email, it has been manic to say the least in wotzyland, but we will catch up soon.

Tnog I have missed you, I hope you are happy ATM in RL. Take care, catch up soon I hope, stick around for a few days eh?

Hunker - thanks for the link to the pizza voucher it's great.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 10/07/2008 23:04

Cashlessness a not unfamiliar situation here - much empathy, Norma. Hope you get it sorted - tell them they'll have to give you paid leave as otherwise you'll just bring her to work with you.

Purplepillow · 10/07/2008 23:11

God that is crap luck fletch

If there is anything Trinity or I can do to help just let us know.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 10/07/2008 23:12

see how I lied about going to bed - too stressed and loading dishwasher and soaking clothes and washing up and sorting school uniform

seems a bit trivial compared to cvq though

glad you hadn't gone to bed really

NormaStanleyFletcher · 11/07/2008 00:08

FABULOUS NEWS!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 11/07/2008 12:12

only problem is I forgot to ask the rates

they used to be one of the cheapest (the one that closed just as she was about to start in september)

and the staff don't know the rates, and the boss isn't in (she called me from home I think)

but I am sure it will be fine.
