I have today been to collect DS(3.5) from his private day nursery where he attendeds 9am til 2pm mon, wed, thurs, this is paid for by the government and we pay for his cooked lunch each day.

However today i have gone to collect him at 2pm- as usual, and was handed all his work and year report, which was great but as we came out of the room the manger asked to see me and informed me today was the last day of term for Harry as he has completed his 13 weeks funded sessions-

I have looked around and the term does not end till the 18th July- any ideas if they can just decide today that this is finished- we returned after easter as normal- he was not there in holiday time.

He will not be returning in sept as we have decided to send him to pre-school but feel a little miffed he has not said goodbye or been involed in the leaving parties/ activities etc-

There is a nursery trip to a theme park on july 25th- i have had no info about this so feels like we have been excluded from it all.

(i should also add i complained to mamger on monday about a member of staff (my DS's key worker) leaving friday with no notice etc- as he told her numbers were down and they no loner needed her- and feel that maybe me voicing my opinion has caused the early finish-) really am upset by it all!!!!

sorry for a moany post but an really upset about it all.

I presume you have the option of paying yourself for the rest of the term? Government funding is normally for 11 weeks starting jan, easter and september.

They should have given you an option to stay on at your own expense imho. It sounds a little unprofessional and i'd be miffed as well.

its not about him staying but i was under the impression he was there til next week today id the first i have heard about it being his last day today- all the other children are there til next week !!!!! have questioned it but no explanation was offered
