Separation anxiety brought on by nursery?

My 17 month old started nursery last week and has been twice. They said he was up and down and at times quite unsettled, which I understand is normal to begin with.
But he's been having meltdowns the last 2 days when I'm away from him which is v unusual. I went upstairs earlier to grab something and he had a meltdown, and I just popped to the shop, only gone 30 mins, left him with my husband which is very normal and he had a meltdown and then again when he saw me come back. Is this linked to separation anxiety induced from nursery and will it stop? I feel so guilty!

sounds not unusual and he will get over it! try to focus on some close connection for the first hour or so when you are reunited. do you still use a sling?

Normal. Their little world's and they safety they knew are rocked. It's so hard x

He's a little heavy but we still breastfeed so that's a good reconnection. He has another morning there today so hopefully he starts to settle. Thank you for the replies x
