I love you and kissing.

My son attends nursery (he's 2) which he started in September and his key worker keeps saying "I love you" and kissing him and being very OTT saying how georgous he is. I am wondering if this is normal?

I have seen other staff members doing this with other children and I'm not sure if it's normal.

It is outstanding by OFSTED so I'm a bit confused.

Of course it’s not normal. It’s highly inappropriate.

Not normal or appropriate

okay I did think it was but I didn't want to complain to be told it's normal and I'm being "funny". no experience of this and never heard of it so wasn't sure.

I thought this was going to be about how to respond when a child says those things to nursery staff not the other way round.

That is highly inappropriate, especially the kissing! We should be teaching children sensible boundaries and not kissing people at nursery is one of them.
