How much for full-time term-time nursery?

How much do you pay for nursery if your child goes full-time, but term-time only so your 30 funded hours aren’t stretched?

Well it depends on the area of uk and how long the day is surely? TIL 6pm??

My nursery just charge for full days if you’re full time; you can drop off and pick up anytime within their opening hours. But let’s say 8-6.

I’m in the north but I’m interested to know what people are paying elsewhere too.

This is a fairly impossible question as it depends how each setting allocates their funded hours, how much the hourly cost is for unfunded hours, and how much they charge for their additional costs.

For instance, if funded hours are offered from 7.30am til 1.30pm every day, but your child attends from 8am, you will only be able to claim for 27.5 funded hours per week and will be charged the rest at their hourly or session cost.

I’m really not sure why it’s an impossible question to ask others what they pay? I know not everyone will pay the same due to a whole host of reasons.

Attending 5 days Home Counties including 3 days 9-5 and 2 days 9-12 (30 hours) Last term paid around £65. Certainly have never paid more than £100 for the term. We have to bring own lunch and if not potty trained, nappies etc. Potential of paying extra for the days not attending longer days.

DD goes to a school nursery so we pay a grand total of nothing! No food, no nappies, nothing. She takes a packed lunch as hot food isn't offered and we provide anything she needs clothing wise (she was 90% potty trained before starting at 2.5) we only use 3 days a week but even if she was 5 days full time (their full time is obviously 9-3) it would still cost us nothing

If you did five full days.
Our nursery you’d get three full days (10hr max per day) funded and then pay two days at full day price. Plus you’d have meal and consumable costs for funded days (£10 per day). So a baby under two would be roughly £180 per week.

We have various sessions though so could potentially be much less if you did five shorter days.

My daughter was pre school last year. We had a £20 a week top up fee for the hours along with after school/pre school clubs at £10/£5 as necessary but obviously they were optional if we needed them.
In nursery I think after the government £2 thing it cost £48 per day. But she was 52 weeks a year so school holidays days were £48 a day.

We paid about £50 a week I think. But that was a school nursery that finished at 15:30. There was an additional wrap around care charge of I think £12 a day. So would take the total to about £110 a week.

We have some friends who use what I consider to be an extortionate nursery that is not worth the price but manages to convince parents that it is, and with their free hours they pay £1,200 a month.

@ElmaPip the private day nursery DS and DD went to charged £78 a day. This did include all food and sun cream in summer, and if you’re eligible you get funded hours plus tax free childcare.

My DD is starting at preschool next month and it is notably cheaper, plus now she is three she gets fifteen funded hours (not all children get thirty hours but all three year olds get fifteen.) But I have to do a packed lunch and provide wellies, sun cream, puddle suits and so on. It’s a lovely preschool though and I’m sure she’ll be very happy. That costs just under £40 a day but it’s only for six hours (the nursery was 730-530 if you wanted it to be) but most of that is covered with her funded hours.
