Please some one tell me how the sentence past for the death of little Noah is just . This wasn’t an accident it was diabolical practice of safe sleep across the whole nursery, not one person whistleblew How awful for all those children and for Noah, my heart goes out to his family

I've just looked, that sentence is shocking. How awful for Noah's family 😢

I read the bbc live reporting yesterday and had to stop. It was really upsetting. The sentence is a disgrace.

Teajenny7 · 17/04/2026 18:42

Absolutely awful. The sentences are a joke.

NobodysChildNow · 17/04/2026 18:43

I simply don’t understand the sentence. Gross negligence (involuntary) manslaughter typically carries a sentence of 5-12 years and can be life. And she is only locked up for 16 months and the rest is “out on licence”?

it must be a huge blow to the poor grieving family.

That nursery worker absolutely KNEW that covering a child and tossing him about trussed up was deliberate abuse and she KNEW that a small child can suffocate easily. She was clearly in an angry mood because the little boy wouldn’t settle, and she took her adult frustration out on him in a cruel and violent manner. The worst abuse of power: when someone who is supposed to care and is put in a position of trust, turns out to be a sociopath.

And then the poor baby was not checked for two whole hours.

I do wonder wtf the judge was thinking. Are they so used to violence they no longer care when the circumstances of a crime are so appalling?

I agree. And the man with a dangerous dog got 12 years. This woman should have got at least the same. It was an act of deliberate child cruelty which led to a death. I hope it goes back to court.
