Will my twins get better- extreme clinginess

My 23 month old twin boys have been doing half days at nursery for January (around 5 sessions) and they will soon be starting full days (9-5) as I’ll be going back to work.

One twin cries at drop off and then gets on with it and his behaviour at home is still as it was. The other twin cries at drop off and when at home is very very clingy- to the point I cannot leave his sight to go toilet or he will cry endlessly. He also isn’t sleeping well as he wakes up and realises me or dad aren’t in the room and again cries throughout the night.

Will this get any better? It’s been a very hard few weeks and it’s upsetting seeing him like this

How often do they go?

I’d say it will improve once they form a bond with a caregiver at nursery. It’s a big transition for a small child and some take to it far easier than others, but it will get better. Have I got it right they’ve only done 5 half days? That’s not very long for them to get used to a new routine and environment yet.

They are supposed to be going 2 days a week 9-5 so full days but so far they’ve been doing 2 half days a week to get them used to it (like a 9-2pm session) so next week they’ll be doing their first full days
