Best State vs Private nurseries/prep

Unfortunately for us, we’ve had to pull out our 19 month year old from a well known chain nursery in Islington. For so many reasons! Mainly our little one doesn’t seem to be herself with her key worker, who is also the room manager. She talks a lot at home & around other strangers including her ballet class. But for some reason, after 3 months she isn’t comfortable. The communication is so poor, we are never updated about changes! The amount of agency staff is ridiculous! And when we tried to question it, they brushed it off. There also seems to be a lot of favouritism and lack of activity taking place for the money you pay. We couldn’t tell you what our daughter has learnt or is struggling with because we only have had one baseline since she joined and that’s it. And that was after we raised it with management. Apart from that, we tried to ask questions during pick up but it’s extremely difficult with other parents collecting and trying to ask the same thing. The environment just feels really off. But now we are considering The Children’s House, MePlace, Winton/Hugh Mydellton or North Bridge House. Does anyone have experience or knowledge on any of the schools mentioned please.

I can’t comment on them all, but from your post, I think you would really like the Nursery at Children’s House. They have a real focus on the individual. I am sure you would get much better communication and observations there.

Friends with children at North Bridge House all moved there after bad experiences elsewhere and were extremely happy in comparison! Though this was all from about Y3 onwards so I don’t know anyone personally who used their Nursery.

Can I ask, is the current Nursery a Bright Horizons?

@FunnyOrca Thank you for sharing that. As we are quite keen on TCH. But the nursery was N Family Club.
