Hi all, my DD 14 months has been at nursery about two months now. We did gradual settling in, 2 x 2 hour sessions and then 3 or 4 weeks of half days followed by 2 full days tues and thurs when I went back to work. She is a complete Velcro baby, was really upset at drop off the first month or so but has been a bit better the last month or so and usually quite happy going to her key worker.
Last week she was poorly with her first cough so Thursday they called me as she’d been really upset all afternoon, which I expected due to her being sick so I went to collect her. Tuesday this week she was fine, today Thursday they text me at 10 and said she’d been crying since drop off but they’d keep me updated, text again at lunch time to say she was still inconsolable so my husband went to collect her at 1 and they said she’d been crying so much she was on the verge of making herself sick.
im just at a loss as to what to do - I can’t keep collecting her but I can’t leave her so so upset all day. I don’t mind them letting me know when she’s that upset but I don’t know how to help it not happen. I’ve checked and everything is the same on a Tuesday vs Thursday. I’m going in to see them Tuesday and will talk about potentially adding in a few more short sessions each week to get her used to it but I just don’t know what to do, I feel like it’s never going to click!
