Funded childcare question

Does anyone know if I can claim funded childcare? I recently became unemployed but I am pregnant again with my second child and I am claiming maternity allowance. My partner is self employed. We want to potentially send our first child to nursery, at least for 15 hrs per week. Is that possible?

Depends on the child’s age, if they are 3 then yes this is possible.

Contact your early years team at your local council, they will be able to tell you if you are eligible.

Both you and your partner need to be in work to claim funding for an under 3.

Must both be in work unless your husband earns very little and then you may be able to claim disadvantaged two yr old funding

The Childcare choices website should tell you if you are eligible for funding based on your circumstances.

They may have changed the name to ‘best start in life’ .
