Hello everyone,

we have a 22 month old little girl who goes to nursery Tuesday-Thursday. She has been there since she was 1, and settled into the baby room after about a month. We then went on summer hols early August. Ever since we got back she has been distraught going to nursery, and it starts the moment we start to put shoes on at home, then sadness, clinging on, the usual until I hand her over.

I do all the standard things, smile, hand over quickly etc. Does anyone have any suggestions of something that may help us help her get comfortable again with going to Nursery? She has a great time when there. But we just seem to have regressed since going back with no sign of improvement.

thanks in advance.

Ask nursery if she’s having issues with one of the children, also check confidentially with the manager in case the care worker has issues, I say this because my DD got on really well with her care worker but she was sacked in the end as she wasn’t very pleasant to some of the kids

Around this age is a key time for separation anxiety to start. It's just a phase.
