Dealing with separation anxiety

My daughter is turning 2 next month and has been in nursery almost a year. She took 4.5 months to really settle in and we count it from then as it took that long for her to eat all her meals, not need naps to be contact naps, and finally smile on drop off and pick ups. But this entire year has been one of ups and downs.
She regularly cries if her favourite adult of the day gives attention to another child and this last month has been all about screaming out for me and tantruming at many points throughout the day.
Nursery have always said that she is highly intelligent and they don’t normally see children this emotionally switched on. Whilst that is of some reassurance it’s soul destroying being able to hear your child’s screams from down the road. Especially when none of the other children are struggling like this.
Is there anyone out there who has also gone through this?
