30 hours funded childcare Wales

My 3 year old ds is registered to start nursery in September at local school, 10 hours.
He is also registered to attend the Welsh-medium playgroup, same setting, to make up the 30 hours.

I'm currently on maternity leave and he attends childcare 2 days a week. (place he's been going since 1 year old which I didn't want to stop when baby came along as was worried about too much change etc but we haven't been happy with the setting hence switching)

I'm feeling really unsure how many hours he should go.

I had thought it would help him learn Welsh, help him with social skills etc

When I go back to work I will be part time, 3 days a week.

What have other people's experiences been with these types of settings? Is more better?
Should I try to keep him home with me and baby? There's not much going on locally suitable for baby and 3 Yr old.
