Does anyone send their child here? I used to hear great things about it but recent reviews and word from some local parents is that it is very badly run now. Anyone there at the moment who can speak to any positive experiences?

@Mindtheagegap1 some recent google reviews do not bode well.

This place used to be fantastic, but sadly it’s changed for the worse. The owner has decided to push out all the long-standing staff, which has really affected the care and atmosphere. It no longer feels like your child is a priority. Things have deteriorated so much that concerned parents (representing at least 15 children) have even set up a WhatsApp group to share worries and experiences. Unless the management genuinely listens and addresses these issues, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

We are sad to see this post, particularly when the members of staff in question were not 'pushed out'. They were let go following a full disciplinary process and an independent review of evidence. Whereas we are not legally allowed to share further details on that, we can confirm that we acted before any harm could come to anyone, as we are expected to do. We are in the process of replacing them with high quality individuals that will meet the high standard that we expect of our team and which the children deserve. We appreciate that not knowing the details is confusing and scary, particularly when you have known those individuals for a long time. But a thorough and detailed process was followed and we would be failing in our duties if we did not act in specific situation, like that. It was not easy for us to make those decisions. The fact that we made them, despite the difficulties that it created, is proof of our commitment to delivering the highest quality early years education.

We went to see this nursery and were not impressed. The toddler and babies are separated by a short wooden fence. They have not been reviewed by Ofsted but claim they have an outstanding report.
There are hidden charges e.g. drop off before 0900 and collection after 1600.

Hello - thank you for your feedback. The short wall between babies and toddlers actually facilitates the development of younger children. We do not claim to have an Ofsted rating, as we have not been inspected since change of ownership. Our charges are very clear. Funded hours can be used between 9am and 4.30pm. Hours outside of that are chargeable. Funding does not cover wrap around care in early years hence only applies to sessional hours, like most other nurseries. We would be happy to explain funding for you and how it works, if you would like. And our fees are based on local authority funding rates for each age group and hence reflects staff ratios required for each.

It'd be worth trying to find the whatsapp group that's been set up for unhappy parents.

Thanks - yes these are the reviews are saw and I must say I didn't like the tone and response of the owner. However, i know family who a few years back had a great experience and it sounded like such a nice place so I was hoping to hear from someone who still thinks that!

@Mindtheagegap1 it has changed owners within the last few years.

Have you seen their Ofsted report? (not specific enough really)

They were reported to Ofsted in January 2025 wrt safeguarding.

Mindtheagegap1 · 05/08/2025 02:24

@beetr00 no I had not seen that Ofsted. Sounds like the owners were called up on something and blamed it on the staff they dismissed. It is all a bit odd. Not sure how ofsted inspected over the phone!
