Leaving Nursery - should I attend party?

DC has been invited to a friends party from nursery, I don't know the mum well but exchanged numbers previously and chat on drop offs etc.

We will still be at the nursery when the party is, do you think we should still go? & how do I tell the other parents we are leaving? Do I mention it at the party (if we go)

I have told the real reasons to a couple of mum friends who go there. Do I give the others I know a vague reason or the truth?

It rather depends - would your child enjoy it? If so, suck up any awkwardness you might feel and take them.

But it’s not clear why you would be awkward. Just leaving the nursery shouldn’t cause the social angst you describe.

What’s the reason you’re leaving? Unless you’ve found out the manager is practicing devil worship in playground I doubt anyone will really care.

@ooooohlalaIm not happy with certain things at the nursery, communication, staffing issues being some of them. I just feel like people might be offended at the things I dislike about the nursery, if they themselves are happy there!

No one will care. Just let them know you’re leaving as there are things you’re not happy with. People will leave nursery and school settings for all kinds of reasons so it really isn’t a big deal as you’ll see it a lot over the next 15 years or so.
