Intrigued to know how much information your nursery give you about your child on a day to day basis on the app if you have one?

On app:
Food
Sleep
Nappies
Accident report

We dont get a photo of our child a day - a bunch of photos are uploaded each week and he might or might not be in them.

We also get the learning/topic themes and menu in advance, and any ad hoc updates.

Depends on age at one i work in.. at the moment 2s and under there is updated sleep, nappies etc and for over 3 we do verbal at the end of the day cause higher ratio lesss staff.

Obs/photos minimum of 2 a month

The app is used to track development and so pictures might be every 2-3 weeks or longer.

As to their day, what they ate etc - they just tell me when I pick them up.

More photos etc would be nice, but they’ve got things to do, it’s busy in there!

We get:

check in
snacks
loo trips
sleeps but not relevant for us
meals
accidents
’medicine’ which is always sunscreen application couple times a day
check out

And a few pictures each day - rarely there might be no picture. This is the best nursery communication we’ve had, we’ve used 4 nurseries over 8 years. People say they’d rather the staff not be on screens but I want all the info and photos 😁 and there is loads of staff, they’re not all on iPads at once.

We also get a ‘focus week’ - mini report - seems to be every few months.

Depends on age (and a bit on development) at our nursery, and the 'diary' appears after they've been signed out for the day, rather that bit by bit over the day. In general for under 3s, it has sign in, what/how much they ate, when/how long they slept, nappy changes/toilet/accidents, and sign out. What they did during the day is verbal at handover, and medication is a separate signed log (not including suncream!).

Over 3s, quite a bit less detail, and toilet trips tend to drop off once a child is reliably clean/dry, and 'didn't sleep' also tends to disappear once a child generally doesn't nap, even if under 3.

As-and-when photos appear occasionally, but the main observations and focus weeks are still done hardcopy (which is lovely, as the children can look through their books once they are old enough, and we get to keep them when they leave).

depends on age but DS is under two so we get

check in
meals
sleep
nappies
medicine
sun cream application
accident reports
1x observation with photos per week
check out

can see menu published in advance also

We send a diary with food nappies and sleeps on. Any accident or incident forms and medication forms on the app. At least one photo per day woth a little note about what they're doing and a focused report termly. Obviously a chat at handover too x
