Gov 30 hrs free - Redundancy

Hi all

Help needed please. I have been made redundant and worried about loosing our 30 day free childcare and tax free childcare account.

Tax code due to renew -
Do this between 17 June 2025 and 14 July 2025

Your employment with the Employer will terminate on 30 June 2025

Question - shall I confirmed the tax code on 17th June before my employer terminates my contract on 30th June. Hoping this gives me another three months to find a job?

Do you get a PILON and if so if you were working your notice would this have taken you past 14th July, and would you have been paid the minimum earnings required in the following 3 months?

Honestly I would speak to TFC and see if there’s a grace period. They were really helpful when DH was made redundant last year.

Reconfirm as soon as you can whilst you are still employed. You will then have a grace period end date that will most likely be 31st December, so your 30 hours can be paid to that date.
