When does funding start for 2 year olds?

Can anyone clarify for me when funding starts for two year olds? Parent is in receipt of UC and LO will be 2 in April. I've read so much conflicting information, with some sources suggesting funding will start after Easter, and others that it won't kick in until September. Anyone know which of these is correct?!

It's the term after they turn 2 so possibly September I think. I understand because my little one turned 2 end of September and I couldn't get funding til January 😭

The 2 yr deprivation funding is administered locally so you need to check with your local authority. In my LA it's the term after they turn 2 (so September for you) but some will do it straight after the child's birthday.

If you mean the working parents funding then it will start after Easter assuming you have your eligibility code by 31st March.

I'm not sure whether I'm being dim here, but if she's two at the beginning of April (so before the Easter break), then surely the next term would be the one beginning after Easter? Or am I missing something?! @ScrewedByFunding yes, it's the deprivation funding - I'm asking on behalf of my DD, she's working but has had her hours cut, and so has just had her funding withdrawn. Her DD has been in nursery from 9 months, so desperately trying to find a way not to have to take her out of nursery between now and September.

Yes the cut off date is 31st March for the summer term. 1st April onwards means a September start I'm afraid.

@JohnnyMarr has she applied and been approved for the deprivation funding? This is for low income, not just those on UC.

If she already has/had working family funding - it might be worth checking when her grace period ends as she might be ok until end of August - childcare provider should be able to check and confirm this

If the code has run out and its a new targeted funding claim then it wouldn’t kick in until September

Not really what I wanted to hear, but thanks everyone for clarifying.
