Mullbrrry house Vs Clowns

Hello mummies.
my daughter is 16 months and I have 7 days to decide between clowns and mulberry house. I have been to see both, have read reviews and I am no clearer to making my decision. I want NLCS as my destination school which I think both are capable of helping me get an offer for as far as academics go but I’m not sure which is the best nurturing environment. I love the fact clowns is still run by the owner and all the staff have been with her for many years. However the mulberry head is young and bright and very innovative.

any comments or help would be much appreciated

If you've seen both you need to listen to yourself and not the forum. NLCS is one of the more 'diverse' reception classes in terms of intake. i.e. they take from a variety of schools and not just 3 or 4. Not many nurseries get more than 3-4 in NLCS. Also please dont have your heart set on any specific school until your daughter is older. The 4+ can be a bit of a lottery.

In any case, my DC went to Clowns so I'm biased but we also saw Mulberry and did not like it at all.

@NLseneca thank you so much for your response. Can I ask how old your daughter is and which school she is now attending if she has left clowns.

if she is still at clowns I assume all is going well. Have you already applied to 4+ schools already?
can I ask which?

thank you

Sorry but that would be too much revealing info

We had offered to both clowns and Mulberry and we chose mulberry house. We had 4+ offers including NLCS and SHHS.

Having said that it’s no guarantee at all that your child or any child will get into NLCS from either school. I don’t think it’s completely random as people like to say but it depends on the children’s ability. We know super pushy parents who tutored their poor 2/3 year old to the hills (crazy right!) and still did not get in (there is absolutely no need to tutor)

My advice is to just go for the more convenient one, it’s the same outcome.

The point you make about the Head is an important one OP. The head of Mulberry has changed a fair amount, whereas Clowns has been constant for like twenty plus years and the staff turnover is very low. Many staff have 10+ year tenures there which is unheard of in such a setting.

But I agree with PP. The most convenient for you usually wins !
