My son joined nursery in October, I work 16 hours a week. I was told I could only work 16 hours a week to be eligible for his funded hours. Is this correct, or can I work more hours? I’m questioning, as I’ve heard 9months-3 year olds get 30 hours in September and would be weird him getting 30 hours nursery and I can only work 16 a week. Thank you

You’ve got to work 16 hours or more to get the free funding. 16 is the minimum

Ok, there are some very messy schemes here

Is your son 2 or 3 and getting the funded hours for low income households? If so, and you're working, you'd probably be better switching to the funded hours for working households where the earnings limit is much higher (100k per year)

Did you apply to your local council for the funding? If so, you're on the low income scheme
