I’m going around in circles online so I thought I would ask on here.
is there anyone on here with a LO under two that attends nursery where you claim the 15 hours free childcare for working parents while also claiming universal credit? I’ve been trying to find out if once you get your code and give it to nursery to take off the 15 hours, are you then able to claim up to 85% from UC on the remaining fee? Please can someone clear this up for me. X

Yes you can. I do it in my nursery

@WooYa ahh okay so when you applied for your free childcare code did it automatically reject the tax free childcare and just approve you for the 15 hours free child care for working parents? Does it ask if you claim UC?

Once you have your code, do you then give that your nursery and then whatever is left over do you put on your UC claim and they still give you up to 85% with no issue? Sorry for all the questions, I just wanted to be absolutely sure before applying online. X

Yeah, exactly that. Apply online via Childcare choices, it will then send you an online letter saying whether you're eligible. Give the code to nursery and they will take it off your bill. Pay fees then send proof over to UC and they will give you up to 85% back
