2 year old finding Nursery hard

My eldest started nursery at 23 months and has been going for 2 months on and off due to holidays illness etc however he's struggling.

Every drop off there's tears and he refuses to eat anything at all. However he does calm down and start playing and exploring.

Some days he's really good and progressing but some days he doesn't like being there lots of tears avoids the other children. It does tend to happen when he's unwell or teething.

Any tips? We gave him a soft toy which helps but hate how he's so unsettled and feel so guilty!

Sounds like it isn't the right place for him. Try a childminder which might be calmer for him.

Hope he's settled. How's he doing now?
