Help - Missed the reconfirmation deadline by a day

I'm hoping someone can advise.

I missed the reconfirmation deadline by a day for my little ones funded hours. Only realised as nursery emailed to say the code wasn't working - I then found my reminder emails in my junk inbox. Complete oversight on my behalf as we've never had to reconfirm before.

I've reapplied and had a message confirming straight back from HMRC. Will we need to pay in full for this term now?

Unfortunately you will not be eligible if you missed your reconfirmation date and will need to pay for this term. The early years provider will not be able to claim the funded hours from the local authority and the local authority will not receive the funding for your child.

I don't know but thanks for the reminder! Ours runs out this month. DH has recently got a new email so I bet he hasn't received any reminders.

Thanks for the replies - should anyone find themselves on this thread in the same situation, all was fine, nothing extra to pay for this term.

Hi can you tell me the outcome for this? I’m still battling having phone calls most days, I didn’t get a reminder email (I know I shouldn’t rely on this)
just wondering if this was solved

It depends. There are 3 cut off days each year. Usually the first day of a school term. Eg. 1st September. If you don't reconfirm in time and miss those days, it's game over. No funding for the rest of the term. If it's outside of those deadline days you usually get a grace period and it won't be a problem.

Hi, I actually posted an update directly above your post.

Confirmation went straight through, I didn't have to pay anything.

I also found myself a day late for reconfirmation, The childminder called the helpline the next morning and all the funding was still covered. Im not sure if this was becuase of the grace-period funding or not but nothing extra to pay for being a day late (phew)

Please help I missed by 5 days am I still in the grace period? I’m so stressed
