Are the 30 hours in Sep 25 definitely coming in?

Hi! I am very much relying on the 30 funded hours coming in next year to allow me to go back to work after the birth of my twins. With the change in government, I’ve been awaiting some sort of confirmation that Labour will be going ahead with the change in funding but so far haven’t seen anything. The only thing I did see was a news clip with I believe, the treasurer, who said she couldn’t confirm as yet if they could go ahead due to the cost and the debts caused by the previous government.

My local council has the 30 hours funded information on their website but is dated before Labour went into power.

I just wondered if anyone had seen anything that confirmed that they are definitely coming in…I need to put a deposit down for nurseries and with maternity pay, don’t want to risk putting the money down and loosing it.

thank you in advance for anyone with any information 🙂

Don't worry they have to honour it and if they do change it they will only improve it.

I would say you can be certain it will happen. Only thing is, the nurseries may well increase their prices just before, so the benefit won't be as good as you'd hoped for.
When my DD got 15 free hours from April this year, and the benefit was only about £200 a month but hopefully for you 30 free hours will really help.
