This morning we went to visit the local nursery that we are planing to send DD (2.1)to in September. They told us that although they are not a pure Montessori nursery they do use Montessori equipment and teaching styles there.
I know a little bit about it and she did explain some things but I was wondring f anyoe had any experience of sending their DC to a nursery like this and how it difers from a 'normal' nursery

Early years education funding. I've just googled it at it might be a devon thing as only devon county council came up.
It's just the childcare voucers you're entitled to for a child who has turned 3. I'm guessing it has another name for it elsewhere.
We get 5 free 2.5 hour sessions per week. I pay extra for him to stay over lunch for two days.
I only found out about the birthday celebration a couple of weeks ago. DS came home with his 'scrapbook' similar to a term report full of photographs of the activities he's been doing and his strengths etc. In it was a picture of the birthday celebration going on. It was the first i'd heard of it as DS doesn't seem to be able to remember anything he's done at nursery. He just tells me who he's been fighting with and any disagreements he's got himself into.
