Child tax credit

Hi.

im pregnant with my third child and wanted to find out if the tax credit 2 child limit would apply to me.
I have two children, one is 18 and no longer dependent on me and lives away at uni. Then I have a 16 year old at home.
I claimed child tax credit for my two previous children, but this payments stopped around 4 years ago due to my salary.
Now that I am pregnant again and would need to reduce my hours at work once baby is born, would I be able to claim child tax credit to help with childcare fees?

I don't think child tax credit is open for new claims, you need to look at uc. Your older child won't be on the claim as non dependent

It would be Universal credit now. Your baby would be eligible as your eldest child is an adult, although they do still cover children up to 19 in education. If they did only cover the eldest two (if the 18 is in education, for example) once they came off the claim the youngest would take their place. You’ll get help for two regardless.
