LO not settling in toddler room

DD (2.2) has just moved to the toddler room at nursery. She was very excited during her transition visits but now that she's in the room full time, she's inconsolable at drop off. I had a bad night's sleep and am due my period so full disclosure, I'm probably a bit extra emotional, but I just felt so sad leaving her today (fyi, I didn't show this to her, waved and said bye as usual!) The baby room staff were so lovely and reassuring, but I don't yet know the new staff very well which doesn't help. I know the ratio is now 1:5 compared to 1:3 so I just worry they won't have time to comfort her. It's only her second week in the room so maybe she just needs to get used to it... how long did your LOs take to settle after a transition?

The key word is JUST. It will take time to adapt.

you will most likely have a totally different child by Christmas. Keep doing what you’re doing. Bright and breezy no nonsense drop offs. She will be fine.

My little one was the same moving between baby room and toddler room, they even phoned me to come and collect her one day as she just wouldn't settle and were worried she was ill as it was so unlike her. I felt awful leaving her but just kept hand overs quick with no issues. She settled within a few weeks (was only attending two half days a week) and absolutely loves it.
