YMCA Nursery - opinions please!

We need to find alternative childcare for our 3.5 year old from September for various reasons. Obviously there are hardy any full-time nursery places available locally at this short notice as a weren’t expecting to have to move him. The only one potentially with space is part of the YMCA group, and only recently opened so hasn’t got many reviews online.

Does anyone have any general opinions on YMCA nurseries? I appreciate there’s probably a lot of variation depending on branch but any opinions will be helpful. Just trying to inform myself but in reality I don’t think we’ll have much choice ….. roll on September 2025 and full time school.

I don't have any experience of them but didn't want to ignore your post. Do they have ofsted reports that you can look at? Have you been for a look around and chatted to the staff? Maybe they will put you in touch with some of the other parents and you can have. Chat with them and see how their children find it. Have a look see if they have a Facebook page too. Yes we have a visit booked on Wednesday, and the only Ofsted report is good across the board so I'm
not overly concerned, I think I’m just more anxious because this is pretty much our only option and they seem a fairly new initiative, I’d never heard of them. The nursery we use at the moment has rave reviews but has honestly been a little disappointing, so I know the Ofsted report isn’t always the whole picture.
