Gifts for nursery staff

My son started nursery in February so new to this part of parenthood. I've seen people talking about school and nursery teacher gifts but I don't know what the norm is. Both myself and my partner work so my son is in nursery year round, should I still provide a thank you gift to the staff when the term time kids break for summer? Not sure if I'd be seen as weird for doing it or rude for not? Any advice would be helpful. Was thinking even a box of donuts or something for the staffroom just to say thanks?

Generally speaking - gift when the child is leaving (so either when summer term time breaks up - before they begin school or the last day of summer hols before starting school)

Gifts/cards also given when -

Key worker leaves (small gift and card)
Other non primary worker leaves (card)
Christmas (gift and card key worker, box of chocs 'for all')

Barring the above I think most don't do gifts, you wouldn't gift at the start of the summer hols if returning after the hols for example.

Other nice things you can discuss with nursery if you aren't inclined towards helping/giving = offering to give a batch of books/toys when your child outgrows them - some would like this some would say no thank you.
