Good nurseries in Oxford - Headington/Summertown area

I’d love to hear views of anyone with their children at nursery in Oxford.

We always heard Sandfield was ‘the best’
nursery (with a great Ofsted) but so far it doesn’t really live up to our expectations. We don’t find it very loving or nurturing, instead it seems like a daily survival mission for the staff. We get zero updates via the Parent app and have never had a parents evening either, both of which were heavily promoted prior to joining. The staff turnover is also suddenly very high when I thought previously this nursery was known for having low turnover, which appealed to us. Has anyone else got thoughts on this nursery? I don’t know if I just have too high expectations - but genuinely don’t believe that’s the case.

Does anyone have any recommendations for nurseries around Oxford? I know waiting lists are very long. However, I just want to find a nursery that gives a sense of genuine love and care towards my child and updates parents throughout the day. I know some nurseries you can log on and see your child at any time - does anyone know of any of those locally?

My kids went to Hunsdon House in Headington. It was 10 years ago now, but it was a nurturing, creative environment. It’s organised around Montessori principles, with a big emphasis on nature and creativity.

@StarOfTheNorth I’ve seen this and thought it looked beautiful. The only thing is we are due another soon and they have to start nursery by 1, so ideally we’d have them both in the same place. Otherwise Hunsdon does look wonderful!
