Are YOU always sick?

I’m at a complete loss tbh. My Lg started nursery in February and since then she’s had some stomach bugs and a cold. But I’ve had a whopping ride of infections and I’m on my fourth round of AB’s. I’ve had bacterial tonsillitis, ear infections, chest infections.. I’m just absolutely done in. Each of them knock me for six and I struggle
to function and sleep. I get sick, then I’m ok for a few days and then boom another infection or ailment.

Has this happened to anyone else? Does it get better ? It’s really impacting my Mh and I feel like my return to work has been so shit.

Yep, first year is so bad!
Once he hit 3 I found he was hardly ill and he's started school last Sep and hasn't been ill once.

It's hard at the time but it does stop or a massive break inbetween.

Thank you. I’ve heard lots of people say it gets better when they go to school!

Exactly the same here. Tonsillitis, chest infection, covid, two stomach bugs. My return to work has been shit because every time I just about catch up with everything I'm off for a week again.

I feel this!! I get back to work for a bit, catch up.. then I’m off again because I’m sick or she’s sick.. then I’m so behind. Returning to work is soooo tough.

That sounds truly awful. I’ve had 3 kids in nursery and never had the constantly ill thing. That does sound a particularly bad run of it too. I don’t know what the answer is but don’t think that level is normal!

im glad you’ve not been through this like so many others! I often wonder if there’s some going on with me that’s underlying. But when this all started I was seriously sleep deprived due to sleep regression (up feeding 4-5 times a night) so that didn’t help lol. I’ve deffo not prioritised my health on mat leave and that’s definitely to blame.

The first year is definitely the worst! I remember thinking and feeling like the constant sickness was worse than newborn days! But it does get better.
Maybe take some probiotics or have yoghurt every day to help the immune system.

I’ve thought the same thing. Would take newborn days over this! X

Sending you 💐 OP - my DD started nursery 3 weeks ago and our household is full of cold and coughs already 😩
Just going by the previous replies, it seems we have a long ride ahead of us before it calms down.

We've been fine (touch wood) and my 2 year old only had Hand foot and mouth disease.
Husband and I don't get our son's colds or runny nose.

But I'm hysterical about taking all the vitamins GrinDrinking loads of water, limiting sugar, and prioritising sleep. No Netflix watching over here- it's lights out at 9pm.

Sounds boring, and it is sometimes.
But I'm knackered as it is. Lots of time off with kids sicknesses would just finish me off.
