Nursery recommendations in Barnet/Enfield/Whetstone?

Our boy is turning 3 soon and we’re not too happy with the current nursery’s set up for pre-school. Class ratios are not great and there isn’t much focus on proactive development skills. Any recommendations for nurseries we should consider? We’re currently at a “chain” nursery so would prefer to avoid this route. Are there any nurseries that are considered feeder nurseries in Barnet?

You might like Norfolk Lodge. It is now owned by Bright Horizons though, so wouldn’t be a way to escape chains.

AlphaBlocks in Hadley Wood is entirely independent AFAIK and sounds like it might be your thing.

Or maybe a nursery attached to a school, like Mill Hill.

Alphablocks looks really nice and definitely the type of place I have in mind.

Few parents have recommended grimsdell (the mill hill nursery) but I’ve heard very mixed reviews about it.

It’s not quite my area but I can’t think of anything else like Alphablocks. So many nurseries are owned by chains now.

Maybe Wood Street Montessori might be worth a look at but I don’t know it personally.
