Hi

Looking for opinions please. My son is 2 almost 3 and he currently goes to a 2 year old nursery at a school. He is due to move up to the 3 year old nursery in January.

We recently moved house and he's been offered a place at different school nursery closer to home or he can stay at the school he is at and move up there.

I can't decide what to do. He has struggled so much settling in to his current nursery and has become attached to his teacher there and more recently the teaching assistant. It's took him a very long time to settle and they think even at the same school it's going to be a hard transition for him. He is behind on his social and emotional development which plays a part in how hard he finds changes.

If he stays at the school he is at they will move the teaching assistant up and some other children will move with him too.

If he moves it will be all brand new to him, even changing the hours he can attend.

In the long run though, he's unlikely now we've moved to actually get a place in the school he's at when he starts full time. So that was the thoughts for moving him now to the nursery at the school he will likely go to full time.

I can't decide whether to take the plunge now and move him to the new nursery at a new school. Leave him at the school he's at now and move him in September when he's that bit older and understands more or even let him completely finish nursery where he is and see where he gets a place when it comes to full time school?

Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

Thank you
