Hi I’m a single mum with very little support around me. Does anyone have any idea how to find a good nursery or are child minders better? I’m returning to work soon which won’t be a problem as I can do daytime shifts. However I’m also returning to work and doing a course from 6pm till 8pm in the evening. As far as I know nurseries won’t be open that long does anyone have any ideas what I can do? Thank you I’m advance.

We looked on DayNurseries.co.uk for nurseries and Childcare.co.uk for childminders. We ended up at a nursery which does 8-6 as standard house but you can pay extra for 7-7 I think.

There is also the app Bubble for babysitters, I've used it when we've had nights out, but you could use it for a couple of hours while you do your course.

If you can, try to speak to other parents in the area as well. We ended up at a nursery that looks pretty crap from the outside, but everyone who I spoke to that sends their child there really liked it. I got some negative reviews of another nursery that looks much better from the outside, and one neighbour had even removed her child from there. So you get a feel for things if you know other people trust and use them.

Thank you so much for your reply! This has helped me a lot
